[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] CJ Logistics announced on the 31st that it has decided to extend the free personal courier (C2C) service provided to residents of the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, who have been struggling due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), until the end of April.
According to CJ Logistics, the number of personal courier shipments received through the company from residents of Daegu and Gyeongbuk this month reached approximately 300,000, a 208% increase compared to normal times. Among these, about 150,000 shipments met the criteria for free service and were provided free of charge.
With this extension of the free service, CJ Logistics will waive all fees for personal courier shipments either delivered to addresses in Daegu and Gyeongbuk or sent from those regions until the end of April. The company will bear all costs incurred during the delivery process, including courier driver commissions.
