Samsung Electronics Chairman Kwon Oh-hyun Received 4.637 Billion KRW in Salary Last Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Kwon Oh-hyun, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, received a total annual salary of 4.637 billion KRW last year.
Samsung Electronics disclosed through its business report on the 30th that Chairman Kwon was paid 4.637 billion KRW last year. This amount includes a salary of 1.249 billion KRW, bonuses of 3.269 billion KRW, and other labor income of 119 million KRW. While the salary remained the same as in 2018, the bonuses decreased by 2.4 billion KRW compared to 5.662 billion KRW in 2018.
Following Chairman Kwon, Vice Chairman Shin Jong-kyun received 3.851 billion KRW, and Vice Chairman Yoon Boo-keun received 3.843 billion KRW in compensation. Vice Chairman Shin received a salary of 1.037 billion KRW, bonuses of 2.681 billion KRW, and other labor income of 133 million KRW. Vice Chairman Yoon received a salary of 1.037 billion KRW, bonuses of 2.681 billion KRW, and other labor income of 125 million KRW.
Lee Sang-hoon, former Chairman of Samsung Electronics’ Board of Directors, who resigned earlier this year after being convicted in a trial related to union suppression allegations, received a total of 3.135 billion KRW, including a salary of 770 million KRW, bonuses of 2.221 billion KRW, and other compensation of 136 million KRW.
Kim Ki-nam, Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics who leads the Device Solutions (DS) division, which includes semiconductor and display businesses, received a total compensation of 3.451 billion KRW. Vice Chairman Kim’s salary increased by about 100 million KRW compared to last year, but his bonuses decreased by about 1.1 billion KRW compared to 3.122 billion KRW in 2018, resulting in a total payment decrease of 1 billion KRW.
Ko Dong-jin, President of the IT & Mobile (IM) division, recorded a total compensation of 2.828 billion KRW last year, receiving a salary of 1.17 billion KRW and bonuses of 1.557 billion KRW. Bonuses decreased by approximately 223 million KRW compared to 2018.
Kim Hyun-suk, President of the Consumer Electronics (CE) division, received compensation of 2.578 billion KRW, similar to the previous year.

Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong has not received a salary from Samsung Electronics since March 2017 and is therefore not subject to compensation disclosure.
