Ssangyong Motor Proposes Management Reform Plan, Begins Full-Scale Internal Structural Improvement
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Ssangyong Motor announced on the 30th that it will begin full-scale internal structural improvement efforts following the implementation of reform measures for business normalization.
Ssangyong Motor plans to focus on securing growth momentum by strengthening corporate structure as the global low-growth phase is likely to be prolonged due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
First, Ssangyong Motor will promote the advancement of work systems across all departments of the company, from product planning to research and development, production, sales, and service. This year’s key improvement task is set as "strengthening collaboration between organizations and seeking changes in working methods." Through this, the company aims to establish a product safety system, reinforce quality mindset, and further strengthen activities to prevent manufacturing defects.

From the 14th of last month, a two-day training was held for heads of each division and responsible executives to enhance capabilities for automotive quality management systems and strengthening automotive product safety competitiveness based on global standards. In April, this training will be expanded to team leader level.
Prior to this, in October last year, Ssangyong Motor held the launch ceremony of the "Quality Innovation Labor-Management Joint TFT," which includes the production headquarters, research institute, and labor union. They have been conducting quality experience activities such as visiting sales frontlines and AS sites, and on-site surveys to listen to customer voices, and are carrying out practical quality improvement work.
