[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] Eleven new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) occurred within a day in Gyeongsangbuk-do.
According to Gyeongbuk Province, as of midnight on the 30th, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases was counted at 1,243, an increase of 11 from the previous day.
Five additional confirmed cases were identified at Seoyoyang Hospital in Gyeongsan, where a cluster infection occurred, and in Uljin, where there had been no confirmed cases until now, a student returning from France tested positive.
With the outbreak in Uljin, confirmed cases have been reported in all cities and counties in the province except for Ulleung Island. In Pohang, one overseas entrant also tested positive for COVID-19. In Gyeongju, the number of confirmed cases increased by three.
So far, seven overseas entrants have been infected in the province. The number of recovered patients increased by 39, totaling 726. The number of deaths due to COVID-19 is 42.
