Dobong-gu Installs Antibacterial Film on Elevators in All Apartment Complexes
From the 26th, Antibacterial Film Support for Over 2,400 Elevators in 698 Apartment Complexes
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dong-jin Lee) will support antibacterial films on a total of 698 locations with elevators installed in apartments, villas, and other buildings within the district, covering about 2,400 elevators, starting from the 25th to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Elevators are considered high-risk spaces for infectious disease outbreaks due to frequent cross-contact among residents through button touches. The antibacterial film contains copper (Cu+) components, a metal that makes it difficult for viruses and bacteria to survive, effectively blocking cross-infection through indirect contact.
The district will distribute the antibacterial films to apartments with management offices through the managers after providing guidance on the film’s effectiveness and attachment methods. For villas and other buildings, staff will visit the sites directly to attach the antibacterial films to the elevators.
In addition, the district actively responds to COVID-19 cluster infections and ensures no gaps in quarantine by distributing 4,400 hand sanitizers to apartments, villas, and other multi-family housing in the first round on March 4, and from March 20, distributing 4,000 hand sanitizers in the second round to about 2,400 elevators in 698 apartment and villa complexes.
