Ahn Cheol-soo: "Proportional Voting for the People Party... Please Judge the Cunning Satellite Parties"
"Please Achieve Political Reform Through Strategic Cross-Voting"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People’s Party, stated on the 30th that "there must be a stern judgment from voters against the arrogance and pride of the established parties" regarding the satellite parties for proportional representation formed by the Democratic Party of Korea and the United Future Party.
At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Ahn said, "These are established parties that look down on the people and the law, treating the people as mere objects of mobilization."
Ahn added, "Politics tainted by ideology and factionalism cannot continue in the 21st National Assembly. We need a party that can play a strong role in checks and balances," and emphasized, "To this end, the disguised proportional representation parties of the established ruling and opposition parties must be judged."

Ahn urged, "I ask the people to judge these cunning satellite parties and to make the proportional representation vote a space for innovation and policy competition for our future," and said, "For constituency seats, vote for whichever candidate you prefer from any party, but for the proportional representation vote, please vote for the People’s Party to change Korean politics. Please achieve political reform through strategic split-ticket voting."
