SK Broadband Offers EBS Special Lectures on B tv
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] SK Broadband will provide the ‘EBS 2-Week Live Special Lectures’ in real-time on B tv starting from the 30th.
The ‘EBS 2-Week Live Special Lectures’ is an online educational broadcast provided by EBS until the 3rd of next month to minimize the learning gap for students due to the postponement of elementary, middle, and high school openings caused by the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
On B tv, broadcasts for 10 grades from elementary grade 3 to high school grade 3, excluding the elementary grades 1 and 2 broadcasts which are only available on the EBS Plus 2 channel, are scheduled. Users can click the ‘EBS 2-Week Live Special Lectures’ banner on the B tv home screen or enter the live channel numbers (751 to 760). EBS textbooks used as lecture materials can be downloaded for free from the EBS Elementary, Middle, and High School website.
SK Broadband has built separate equipment and servers to enable the special lectures to be broadcast on B tv. Additionally, to ensure smooth service provision, the company urgently expanded the capacity of its IDC (Internet Data Center) for EBS CDN from the existing 300MB to 1TB, approximately 33 times larger.
Kim Myung-jung, President of EBS, said, "EBS has organized the ‘EBS 2-Week Live Special Lectures’ to minimize the learning gap caused by COVID-19, and has been making various efforts such as cooperating with major domestic and international portals and IPTV.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to minimize the learning loss of the public."
