Candidate Kang Tae-woong's Pledge to Establish Bogwang Station on the Shinbundang Line
Promise to Establish Bogwang Station to Improve Transportation Convenience in Hannam New Town
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Kang Tae-woong, the Democratic Party candidate who accepted the party's recruitment offer and challenged Yongsan District in the April 15 general election, announced a pledge to promote the establishment of Bogwang Station on the Shinbundang Line.
The demand to establish Bogwang Station between Sinsa Station and Dongbinggo Station, along with the promotion of the northwest extension of the Shinbundang Line, has been a long-standing local wish that has been continuously raised.
The area under discussion is near Hannam New Town, where the population has steadily increased alongside New Town development. Accordingly, local residents have requested for over 10 years to secure transportation accessibility through the establishment of Bogwang Station.
Reflecting the opinions of local residents, Candidate Kang pledged to promote the establishment of Bogwang Station on the Shinbundang Line to drive urban growth in Yongsan.
At the 'Shinbundang Line Northwest Extension General Election Pledge Agreement Ceremony' held on the 15th, attended by eight Democratic Party lawmakers including Kang Tae-woong (Yongsan), Lee Nak-yeon (Jongno), and Kim Sung-gon (Gangnam Gap), Candidate Kang strongly advocated for the establishment of Bogwang Station.
At the ceremony, Candidate Kang stated, “The results of the preliminary feasibility study and the analysis by the working-level staff differed,” and added, “We will resolve the issues of attracting the establishment of Bogwang Station on the Shinbundang Line and securing an access route toward Dongbuichon-dong at the Shinbundang Line’s Bakmulgwan Station.”
