[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the evening of the 28th, Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha held a phone call at the request of Retno, the Indonesian Foreign Minister, exchanging opinions on the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and cooperation measures between the two countries.
Minister Retno highly praised Korea's excellent diagnostic testing capabilities and quarantine capacity in response to COVID-19, expressing hope to share Korea's experience. She also mentioned that COVID-19 has rapidly spread recently in Indonesia, causing shortages of quarantine supplies, and requested support.
In response, Minister Kang expressed shared concern about the COVID-19 situation in Indonesia and stated that quarantine supplies would be supported as much as possible within available capacity.
