[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] A man in his 30s was arrested by the police on suspicion of stabbing his mother multiple times with a weapon.
The Gumi Police Station in Gyeongbuk announced on the 27th that they had arrested A (38) on charges of stabbing his mother with a weapon (special injury to a lineal ascendant).
A is suspected of stabbing his mother B (66) multiple times in the face and chest with a weapon at their home in downtown Gumi at around 10:47 a.m. on the 26th. A is known to suffer from schizophrenia.
B was transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
