Launch of the 2nd Term of the Literature Promotion Policy Committee
Poet Nataejoo, Professor Bang Jaeseok, Novelist Lee Giho Join Forces
[Asia Economy Reporter Jonggil Lee] The 2nd Literary Promotion Policy Committee, an advisory organization for the government's literary promotion policy, was launched on the 27th. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism appointed fifteen members as committee members, including Na Taeju, president of the Korean Poets Association; Kim Youngdu, director of the Korean Novelists Association; Kwak Hyohwan, executive director of the Daesan Cultural Foundation; Kim Kyungsik, secretary general of the International PEN Korea Center; Bang Jaeseok, professor of creative writing at Chung-Ang University; Seo Miae, mystery novelist; Son Mi, poet; and Shin Junbong, reporter at JoongAng Ilbo. Also included were Shin Hyunsoo, secretary general of the Korean Writers' Association; Lee Giho, novelist; Lee Songhee, sijo poet; Lee Hyesun, vice president of the Korean Writers' Association; Jeon Bosam, president of the Korean Literature Museum Association; Jung Eunsook, CEO of Maumsanchaek; and Kim Youngsoo, arts policy officer at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The term of office is three years. Through regular meetings held twice a year and special meetings on current issues, the committee will provide advice on all aspects of literary promotion policy, including the establishment of the National Korean Literature Museum, the overseas expansion of Korean literature, and the creation of a healthy literary ecosystem.
