According to China's state-run Xinhua News Agency on the 27th, President Xi stated at the meeting, "The virus has no borders," and "The epidemic is our common enemy."
He said, "Everyone must strive to build a strong global network for COVID-19 control and treatment," and promised, "China will make greater efforts to supply medical materials and daily necessities to the world." China also announced that it would open the already established COVID-19 prevention internet knowledge center to the world.
At the meeting, President Xi also emphasized the need to reduce tariffs and eliminate trade barriers as measures to overcome the economic crisis caused by COVID-19. Furthermore, he conveyed that global macroeconomic policy coordination must be strengthened to prevent the world economy from falling into recession.
