aT to Return 30% of Executive Salaries to Overcome COVID-19 Crisis
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] To share the national burden caused by the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), executives and senior officials of the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) will participate in wage forfeiture.
On the 27th, aT announced that President Lee Byung-ho and other standing executives will forfeit 30% of their monthly salary for four months, and employees at grade 1 or higher will voluntarily decide on a certain amount to participate. The forfeited funds will be used to overcome the COVID-19 crisis faced by the agro-food industry and local communities struggling to secure sales channels.
Prior to this, aT actively participated in the 'Good Rent' campaign by reducing the rent by 50% for 420 tenant companies in the Yangjaedong Flower Wholesale Market, which is suffering from decreased flower consumption, and by reducing rent by 20-30% for about 80 small business owners residing in the Seoul aT Center and regional headquarters buildings.
In addition, continuous support and assistance are being provided through voluntary fundraising by all employees, emergency disinfection of facilities for vulnerable groups, rice support for livelihood stabilization, and mask donations for low-income elderly people.
