Samsung Compliance Committee to Hold First Meeting with Civic Groups on the 27th
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] The Samsung Compliance Committee will hold its first meeting with a civic group.
On the 26th, the Samsung Compliance Committee is scheduled to meet with the civic group Samsung Victims Joint Struggle at the law firm Jipyung in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, the following morning.
From the committee, Chairman Kim Ji-hyung, Secretary General Shim Hee-jung, and Communications Team Leader Park Jun-young will attend, while from Samsung Victims Joint Struggle, Representative Ha Sung-ae, Labor Committee Chair of Minbyun Jeong Byung-wook, and Research Professor Lim Mi-ri from Korea University’s Korean History Research Institute will participate.
The Samsung Victims Joint Struggle plans to hear in detail the recommendations the committee made to Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong and convey the group’s official stance and demands.
Earlier, on the 11th, the Compliance Committee recommended that Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong reflect on and apologize for issues related to the succession of Samsung Group’s management rights and labor union matters.
The Compliance Committee explained that it intends to listen to the opinions of civic groups and will actively gather and consider their views as needed in the future.
