One More COVID-19 Case Confirmed in Gyeongnam, Total 87... 60 Recovered
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] One additional confirmed case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has been reported in the Gyeongnam region. The total number of confirmed cases in the province has reached 87, with the number of recovered patients increasing to 60.
On the 26th, Gyeongnam Province announced in a COVID-19 response briefing that a 40-year-old man living in Yangsan tested positive for COVID-19. The province stated that this man stayed in Thailand from the 12th to the 19th along with a confirmed patient who tested positive after being examined at the Incheon Airport quarantine station.
The man was asymptomatic at the time of quarantine and was under self-isolation. He is currently being transferred to Masan Medical Center for treatment.
On the same day, three patients were discharged, including the fifth confirmed case in the province (a 47-year-old female nurse at Hanmaeum Hospital in Changwon), the 40th case (a 56-year-old male in Changwon), and the 68th case (a 63-year-old female in Geochang). The number of hospitalized patients decreased to 27.
Six confirmed patients from Daegu and Gyeongbuk who were hospitalized in provincial hospitals were discharged on the day, reducing the total number of patients to 88.

As the number of discharged patients increased, the remaining hospital beds in the province rose to 199. Accordingly, Tongyeong Red Cross Hospital, which had been designated as an infectious disease specialized hospital, will be released from this designation.
