This meeting was organized to review the COVID-19 response status of public institutions in the oceans and fisheries sector and to share and communicate key issues of each institution. The meeting will be attended by heads of 16 public institutions including Busan Port Authority and Korea Fisheries Resources Agency, as well as heads of 3 related organizations such as the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, Korean Register, and Korea Shipping Association.
First, Minister Moon will urge each institution to take the lead in ensuring that the government's stringent 'social distancing' campaign is well observed in local communities, and emphasize, "Support measures for overcoming COVID-19 in the oceans and fisheries sector should be promptly implemented on the ground, and visible results of core projects by each institution should also be achieved."
