Boseong-gun Blocks Mundeok-myeon Cherry Blossom Road in Preparation for COVID-19
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yong-chul] Boseong County, Jeonnam announced on the 26th that it will block the Boseong Cherry Blossom Road to prevent local transmission of COVID-19.
The county expects that many spring visitors will gather during this weekend (28th and 29th), when the cherry blossoms are expected to bloom, and the first weekend of April (4th and 5th), and plans to block the entrance to the cherry blossom road to protect the safety of village residents.
The blocked Boseong Cherry Blossom Road covers the entire 4 km section from Daewonsa Samgeori to the entrance of Daewonsa Temple.
A county official said, "This decision was made as cases of visitors testing positive for COVID-19 have increased, including a confirmed case visiting the Sansuyu Village in Gurye recently, where people went out to enjoy spring outings," adding, "Although it is regrettable, we will welcome tourists with a more substantial festival next year," and requested people to refrain from visiting on weekends.
