Rural Development Corporation Returns 30% of Executives' Salaries to Overcome COVID-19 Crisis
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] Korea Rural Community Corporation announced on the 26th that it will share the pain of overcoming COVID-19 by having some executives, including standing directors and department heads, return part of their salaries, and general employees participate in voluntary fundraising.
Ten executives, including President Kim Insik and other appointed officials, will return 30% of their monthly salary for four months, and about 130 department heads will return wages within a certain range. In addition, general employees have been conducting COVID-19 fundraising since mid-March.
The collected donations will be used as resources to support rural local economies and vulnerable groups suffering from COVID-19.
President Kim Insik said, "We decided to join the government-wide efforts to overcome COVID-19 with the hope that our contribution will help vulnerable groups who are experiencing great difficulties in this crisis."

Meanwhile, the corporation donated 10 million won to Gyeongsangbuk-do to overcome COVID-19, reduced 30% of the rent for corporation-owned real estate, and is carrying out lunchbox delivery and kimchi sharing for vulnerable groups in rural areas.
