Gokseong-gun Strongly Promotes Social Distancing for Community Coexistence
Comprehensive Promotion of Avoiding Meetings and Outings, Wearing Masks, and Proper Handwashing
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Jeonnam Gokseong-gun Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (hereinafter ‘Disaster Headquarters’) announced on the 25th that it held a ‘Social Distancing’ related agencies meeting with local institutions and organization heads on the 24th.
The meeting was attended by 28 people including the county governor, chairman of the county council, and chief of Gokseong Police Station. The Disaster Headquarters first checked the COVID-19 prevention response status by each institution and department.
Then, they urged local related agencies, business operators, and facility owners to participate in ‘Social Distancing,’ including guidance on the national behavioral guidelines. The attendees also expressed their sympathy and intention to participate in the government-wide ‘Social Distancing’ campaign as cases of nationwide COVID-19 cluster infections have recently increased.
‘Social Distancing’ is a campaign encouraging citizens to voluntarily refrain from meeting people or going out to prevent COVID-19. It recommends wearing masks and practicing proper handwashing to follow personal hygiene rules, and communicating with friends preferably via phone or SNS. It also emphasizes refraining from visiting places with large gatherings or enclosed spaces such as multi-use facilities.
The county posted promotional banners containing these messages at eight banner stands in Gokseong-eup, Seokgok-myeon, and Okgwa-myeon. Additionally, 600 promotional posters were distributed to local related agencies and multi-use facilities to comprehensively promote social distancing.
