Cheongwadae "COVID-19 Medical Supplies Overseas Expansion Support Interagency TF to Launch Soon"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] The government is forming a task force (TF) dedicated to the export of medical equipment related to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
A Blue House official told reporters on the 25th that the "COVID-19 Quarantine Supplies Overseas Expansion Support Inter-Ministerial TF" is scheduled to be launched this week.
The TF will include related ministries such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It will be responsible for supporting overseas assistance and export of COVID-19 related medical supplies.
The government decided to launch the TF due to the increasing need for efficient management as requests for export of quarantine supplies from abroad continue. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as of today, 47 countries have inquired or requested COVID-19 diagnostic kits from Korea.
