Gochang County Council Holds 'Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant Units 3 and 4 Containment Building Briefing'

At the session, the Disaster Prevention Department (Head Kim Jun-seop) of the Hanbit Nuclear Power Headquarters visited and provided an overall update on the current status of Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant Units 3 and 4.
The explanation session was held to share opinions on the investigation of safety issues and future measures, as concerns in the local community have intensified due to the exposure of rebar on the outer walls of the reactor containment buildings of Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant Units 3 and 4, which have been operating for 25 years.

Lim Jeong-ho, chairman of the Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant Special Investigation Committee of the Gochang County Council, stated, “So far, more than 260 voids have been discovered. If the reactor is restarted without resolving these voids, we must convey the concerns felt by the residents and devote ourselves to ensuring the structural safety,” adding, “More importantly, it is crucial to restore the trust of Gochang residents in Hanbit Nuclear Power Plant.”
