Naju-si to Waive 100% of Agricultural Machinery Rental Fees Starting from the 27th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Han-hyuk] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 25th that it will temporarily waive the rental fees for agricultural machinery at the Agricultural Machinery Rental Center from the 27th to July 31st to support farmers struggling due to the impact of COVID-19.
The city will rent out 118 types (1,286 units) of agricultural machinery owned by the center completely free of charge.
This measure was prepared to alleviate the economic burden on farmers facing difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, such as the cancellation of various events, delayed school openings, stagnation in agricultural product distribution, and suspension of school meal ingredient deliveries.
Additionally, with strengthened immigration controls due to the global spread of COVID-19, it is expected to help resolve the labor shortage in rural areas where employing foreign workers has become difficult.
Mayor Kang In-gyu said, “I hope that the reduction in agricultural machinery rental fees will help ease the economic difficulties of farmers affected by COVID-19 even a little. We will do our best to promote agricultural policies that provide practical support to farmers, not only through machinery rental but also through multifaceted analysis of COVID-19’s impact on agriculture.”
