[Public Officials' Assets] Kim Jong-gap, KEPCO CEO, Rises to 2nd Place... Increased 1.5 Billion KRW to 13.7 Billion KRW Thanks to 'Buildings and Stocks'
Holding 750 Shares of Korea Electric Power Corporation Stock
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Kim Jong-gap, CEO of Korea Electric Power Corporation, reported assets worth 13,729,790,000 KRW, ranking second in total assets among public officials. Kim is a multi-homeowner currently owning apartments in Gangnam-gu and Songpa-gu, Seoul.
According to the '2020 Regular Asset Change Report' disclosed in the official gazette on the 26th by the National Assembly Public Officials Ethics Committee, Kim's assets increased by 1,519,050,000 KRW from 12,210,740,000 KRW the previous year, totaling 13,729,790,000 KRW. This ranks him second among all public officials. The first place is Joo Jin-sook, director of the Korean Film Archive, with 17,931,610,000 KRW.
The increase in assets ranked fourth among public officials. Last year, Kim increased his assets by 1,519,050,000 KRW, following first place Heo Jeong-do, standing auditor of Korea Land and Housing Corporation (3,171,350,000 KRW increase), second place Jo Nam-gu, member of Busan Metropolitan Council (1,838,400,000 KRW), and third place Kim Sang-seon, president of Korea Institute of Science and Technology Planning and Evaluation (1,599,150,000 KRW increase).
The increase in assets was due to buildings, deposits, and securities. Land assets decreased.
Currently a multi-homeowner, Kim owns an apartment in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (964,000,000 KRW) and an apartment in Songpa-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul (896,000,000 KRW). The total building-related assets amount to approximately 2,824,000,000 KRW.
Included in the assets is land totaling 1,762,380,000 KRW, including 2,070.25㎡ of land in Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do, registered under his spouse's name (573,870,000 KRW).
Deposits under his name increased by 573,730,000 KRW to 4,962,000,000 KRW, and deposits under his spouse's name increased by 138,220,000 KRW to 1,190,530,000 KRW, totaling 6,152,530,000 KRW.
Additionally, a 2003 SM520V vehicle owned by him was reported, valued at 1,410,000 KRW.
Securities increased by 875,700,000 KRW from the previous year to 3,435,000,000 KRW. He holds 750 shares of Korea Electric Power Corporation stock.
