Jeonbuk Province Promotes Customized Skilled Workforce Support Project for SMEs
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Jeonbuk Province announced on the 25th that it will promote the 2020 ‘Customized Professional Workforce Support Project for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)’ in collaboration with the Camtic Institute of Technology to resolve the shortage of skilled personnel in local SMEs and support the creation of customized jobs.
The ‘Customized Professional Workforce Support Project for SMEs’ is a program that provides a monthly employment subsidy of 1 million KRW for up to two years when small and medium manufacturing companies in the province newly hire professionals with more than 10 to 15 years of experience working at large corporations, mid-sized companies, national/public research institutes, or financial institutions, and maintain their employment for more than three months.
Jeonbuk Province is receiving positive evaluations for alleviating the labor cost burden of SMEs by supporting the recruitment of customized professionals at 12 companies in the province last year, while also contributing to strengthening corporate competitiveness by utilizing the know-how of the professionals hired through the support project.
Juyong-su, Executive Director of Gaoncell Co., Ltd., a participating company last year, said, “The professional personnel hired without labor cost burden through the support project greatly contributed to the development of the company’s technical field, resulting in high satisfaction,” and added, “I hope the support project expands so that many companies struggling to hire professional personnel can receive support and have the opportunity to enhance the capabilities of small-scale SMEs through professional personnel.”
Lee Nam-seop, Director of the Corporate Support Division of Jeollabuk-do, said, “We hope the Customized Professional Workforce Support Project for SMEs will contribute to resolving the shortage of skilled personnel and strengthening competitiveness of local SMEs,” and added, “Especially amid the spread of COVID-19, we will do our best to provide an opportunity to ease the management burden for local SMEs facing difficulties in hiring professional personnel due to labor cost burdens.”
Meanwhile, the application period for the 2020 ‘Customized Professional Workforce Support Project for SMEs’ is from today until the 24th of next month. Application forms can be downloaded from the websites of Jeonbuk Province and the Camtic Institute of Technology and submitted in person or by mail.
