KOSPI and KOSDAQ Maintain Uptrend into Afternoon with Over 4% Gains
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Both the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets are showing a 4% increase and maintaining their upward trend into the afternoon.
According to the Korea Exchange on the 25th, as of 1 PM, the KOSPI recorded 1,683.13, up 73.16 points (4.54%) from the previous day. The KOSPI, which started the day with gains, has consistently maintained an increase of around 4% during the session. At the same time, the KOSDAQ index also rose 20.95 points (4.36%) to 501.35 compared to the previous day.
Looking at trading trends by participant, individual investors who had turned to selling after 14 consecutive trading days of buying switched back to buying in just one day, leading the index rise. Individual investors net purchased 698.2 billion KRW. On the other hand, foreign investors, who had been net sellers for 14 consecutive trading days until the previous day, continued to net sell 283.9 billion KRW today, and institutions also net sold 404.9 billion KRW.
