Gyeongju Election Commission Reports Preliminary Candidate for Providing Food to Election Camp Staff
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] The Gyeongju City Election Commission in Gyeongbuk announced on the 25th that it has reported to the prosecution preliminary candidate A and volunteer B for the National Assembly election on charges of providing food to election camp officials (violation of the Public Official Election Act).
According to the Gyeongju Election Commission, the two provided food worth approximately 480,000 won to 26 key election camp officials who are constituents of the electoral district while making statements related to election campaigning earlier this month.
The Public Official Election Act stipulates that, except for cases where allowances, actual expenses, or other benefits are provided to certain election office personnel, no money or other benefits related to election campaigning may be given or received.
