Intromedic to Promote US Export of COVID-19 Inactivation Disinfectant
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Intromedic is pushing to export disinfectants to the United States, where the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) is rapidly spreading.
On the 24th, an Intromedic official said, "Since starting the disinfectant distribution business last month, inquiries from China, the United States, and the Middle East have been increasing," adding, "We are first steadily receiving domestic orders while discussing supply with distributors in each country."
Last month, Intromedic secured the distribution rights for disinfectants from the Swedish company LifeClean International AB (LifeClean). Subsequently, on the 13th, they received an order for disinfectants worth 2.2 billion KRW from Uple and KDG Korea.
LifeClean disinfectants use chlorine dioxide (ClO2) as the main ingredient, which is known to inactivate the novel coronavirus. The product is preservative-free, non-toxic, and has antiviral properties, killing various viruses and bacteria within 2 minutes. In particular, this product overcomes the instability of conventional chlorine dioxide gas, which rapidly decreases in concentration and loses sterilizing power when reacting with ultraviolet light or oxygen. It has been recognized by registering related patents in seven countries including the United States, Japan, and Australia, and has received the highest grade from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
