Gwangju Dong-gu Distributes 'Dementia Care Packages' to Homes of Elderly with Dementia
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 24th that it will distribute dementia care kits to the homes of elderly dementia patients due to the prolonged closure of the Dementia Safety Center caused by COVID-19.
Until now, the district has been continuously managing the care gap for dementia center users through regular phone monitoring.
However, as COVID-19 has prolonged, to respond more efficiently and actively, 1,000 dementia care kits will be produced and distributed to enable self-learning through cognitive stimulation activities at home.
The dementia care kits consist of seven items: ▲ COVID-19 prevention guidelines ▲ hand sanitizer ▲ cloth mask ▲ wet wipes ▲ dementia prevention worksheets and coloring books ▲ colored pencils ▲ nuts that help brain health, and will be distributed until the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.
