Gwangju Police Joint Inspection of Multi-use Facilities to Prevent COVID-19 Spread
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency (Chief Choi Gwan-ho) will conduct joint inspections of multi-use facilities together with Gwangju Metropolitan City until the 5th of next month to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
According to Gwangju Police on the 24th, this joint inspection will focus on quarantine-related security activities at multi-use facilities where group infections are a concern by forming joint inspection teams through consultations with district offices for each police station, in addition to the joint inspection teams of the city and the provincial police agency.
The inspection targets are mainly entertainment facilities where large crowds are likely to gather in confined spaces, such as large clubs, colateks, entertainment bars, danran bars, and karaoke rooms.
On the 22nd, a joint inspection team of police and local governments (55 members) conducted inspections on 15 establishments, including clubs, which are high-risk close-contact venues, to check compliance with "COVID-19 infection prevention guidelines" and illegal activities such as youth entry.
In cases where operation of entertainment facilities is unavoidable, compliance with "COVID-19 infection prevention guidelines" will be checked, including mask-wearing by workers and users, maintaining a 1 to 2-meter distance between users, provision of hand sanitizers, and preparation and management of visitor lists (name and phone number required). Non-compliant establishments will be reported to local governments to ensure strong administrative orders can be enforced.
