"Palace on the Hand" SK Telecom Realizes '3D Deoksugung' with AR
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] SK Telecom is unveiling ‘3D Deoksugung,’ an augmented reality (AR) experience that can be viewed on the palm of your hand.
On the 24th, SK Telecom announced that it will pilot ‘AR Deoksugung,’ a three-dimensional representation of Deoksugung Palace created using thousands of aerial photographs and AR element technologies, in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Administration’s Deoksugung Management Office.
‘AR Deoksugung’ can be accessed through the ‘Jump AR’ app. It offers a 3D ‘AR map’ and ‘AR photo zones’ that allow users to freely view 12 buildings and the 61,205㎡ area of Deoksugung Palace on their hands. The AR map displays building guides, photo zones, and convenience facilities within Deoksugung. It also provides recommended courses that are stroller- and wheelchair-friendly.
