"KT to Form Research Alliance for COVID-19 Spread Prediction Using AI"
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT announced on the 24th that it will join hands with the Ministry of Science and ICT to establish a 'COVID-19 Spread Prediction Research Alliance.'
KT will provide floating population data to six institutions, including Seoul National University, Konkuk University, Hanyang University, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), and Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI). Using artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and mathematical modeling, it plans to lead research predicting the domestic inflow and regional spread of COVID-19.
The COVID-19 spread prediction research will be conducted under strict security management within the 'Data Safe Zone' operated by the Ministry of Science and ICT. The Data Safe Zone is a space established within the Korea Data Agency (KDATA) to enable research and analysis of sensitive public institution and private company data in a secure environment.
