Gyeongnam Office of Education Urgently Allocates 27.6 Billion KRW for COVID-19 Supplementary Budget
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Sharon] The Gyeongnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 24th that it has urgently allocated an additional budget of 27.6 billion KRW to establish a quarantine system in response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) ahead of the scheduled school opening on the 6th of next month.
Through this supplementary budget, the plan is to focus all efforts on establishing a quarantine system and supporting learning, including purchasing 5 million masks for students and installing thermal imaging cameras in schools with more than 100 students.
The specific allocation details include ▲103 billion KRW for mask support for all schools ▲7.4 billion KRW for installing thermal imaging cameras ▲3.2 billion KRW for special quarantine ▲5.1 billion KRW to support parental expenses for private kindergartens ▲2 billion KRW for emergency care lunch expenses ▲800 million KRW for safe operation of school meals ▲1.2 billion KRW for supporting projects such as online learning ▲6.9 billion KRW for quarantine supplies from national treasury and special grants ▲and a reduction of 9.3 billion KRW in contingency funds.
