Gyeonggi Fire Department Donates 67.9 Million Won in COVID-19 Relief Fund... 5,278 Participants
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters has joined the fundraising campaign to overcome the crisis caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters announced on the 24th that it had donated a special fund of 67.9 million won, contributed by the headquarters and frontline fire stations' firefighters, to the National Disaster Relief Association on the 23rd.
From the 13th to the 20th, the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters conducted a fundraising campaign for eight days to overcome the national disaster and share the suffering of the people. A total of 5,278 people participated in this fundraising. Notably, not only firefighters but also public officials, substitute personnel, and social service agents joined the donation.
Due to the spread of COVID-19, the Gyeonggi Fire Headquarters did not hold a separate donation ceremony on the day and transferred the funds to the association via bank transfer.
The donated funds are expected to be used for relief and medical support for vulnerable groups.
