Gyeonggi-do Supports Selective Screening Facilities at Incheon Airport Quarantine Station
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province announced on the 23rd that it has provided three mobile screening containers (negative pressure type) to the Incheon Airport Quarantine Station.
Earlier, on the 21st, the Incheon Airport Quarantine Station requested support from Gyeonggi Province for mobile screening facilities. In response, Gyeonggi Province installed mobile screening facilities at Incheon Airport Terminal 1 (1 unit) and Terminal 2 (2 units) on the 22nd.
The Gyeonggi Province mobile screening facility is a container measuring 3m wide, 9m long, and 2.6m high, consisting of five rooms: three rooms for specimen collection and medical staff consultations, and a dedicated space for sputum collection when detailed testing is required.
Equipped with sterilization and negative pressure facilities, it prevents secondary infections of medical staff and examinees that may occur during screening tests and specimen collection.
Choi Won-yong, Director of the Planning and Coordination Office of the province, explained, "As confirmed cases among overseas arrivals are occurring in the Gyeonggi area, it was judged necessary to take a proactive and swift response, leading to the support of screening containers."
