Gwangju City Recruiting 240 Participants for 'Citizen Experience Beekeeping Site'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 22nd that it will recruit 240 participants for this year’s ‘Citizen Experience Apiary’ on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 23rd.
The ‘Citizen Experience Apiary’ is a project that has been promoted annually since 2016, and due to participants’ positive response, the number of participants was increased by 60 this year.
Participants can take part in regular experience events every Saturday from next month until the end of July, when honey harvesting is completed.
Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form from the city’s website notice board, filling it out, and then either visiting the city’s Life Agriculture Division in person or sending it by fax.
This project is operated by the Gwangju Metropolitan City branch of the Korea Beekeeping Association, which was selected through a public contest. The participation fee is 100,000 KRW per applicant for beehive rental, payable to the Beekeeping Association.

The Beekeeping Association is responsible for managing the rented beehives and their care, and all honey produced from the beehives will be distributed to all applicants.
