Disabled individuals are vulnerable to limited access to information, making it difficult for them to easily obtain information about official mask sales locations. Additionally, those with mobility difficulties face significant challenges purchasing official masks due to long queues at sales points.
Accordingly, Seongdong-gu, to assist disabled persons struggling to purchase masks, had community leaders and the COVID-19 Overcoming Volunteer Group visit households directly from the 20th to the 22nd, distributing two masks per person over three days.
The door-to-door mask delivery is expected to help registered disabled residents avoid the difficulty of visiting pharmacies individually.
Seongdong-gu is making every effort to support vulnerable groups in the district with mask provisions. From the 11th to the 15th, masks were directly distributed to 1,152 pregnant households, and masks have been provided to 11,459 basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups.
Furthermore, in preparation for the prolonged COVID-19 situation, district office employees have taken the lead by wearing cloth masks, prioritizing the supply of health masks to vulnerable groups.
The Seongdong-gu Volunteer Center is conducting the ‘Good Mask Sharing Campaign’ to foster a culture of yielding official masks to those who truly need them.
Seongdong-gu has published the operating hours of 142 pharmacies, official mask sales points under the 5-day mask distribution system, on the district office website to ensure residents face no difficulties purchasing masks, and actively supports pharmacies requiring additional manpower.
