View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased by 98 on the 22nd, bringing the total to 8,897.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on the day, the number of confirmed domestic cases increased by 98 compared to the previous day. Additional patients in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Daegu, Gyeongbuk regions were 26 and 54, respectively.
By region, Daegu had the highest number with 43 cases, followed by Gyeonggi (16), Gyeongbuk (11), Seoul (10), Daejeon (2), Gwangju (1), Chungbuk (1), Chungnam (1), Jeonnam (1), and Gyeongnam (1). Eleven cases were also confirmed during quarantine.
