'Minions 2' Release Date Postponed Due to COVID-19 Spread

Distributor Universal Pictures announced on the 20th, "Due to the global spread of COVID-19, we are inevitably postponing the release date planned for July 22," adding, "The revised schedule will be announced later." The film's final production was disrupted by the COVID-19 outbreak. Illumination Mac Guff Studio, the production company located in Paris, France, has decided to close temporarily. Universal Pictures explained, "We are unable to complete the film in time for the summer release." As of this day, 10,995 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported in France, with 327 deaths.
