[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 20th that it will promote a reduction in agricultural machinery rental fees to minimize the burden on farmers who are experiencing difficulties in timely farming and worsening rural labor shortages during the farming season due to disruptions in the entry of foreign workers caused by the spread of COVID-19.
The county decided to temporarily reduce rental fees by 50% for all types of rental agricultural machinery operated at the agricultural machinery rental center, and the discount period will be from next month 1st to July 31st, a total of four months.
It is expected that about 2,200 farms will benefit from a reduction in the burden of approximately 50 million won compared to last year through this rental fee reduction, and it is also anticipated to help increase the utilization rate of agricultural machinery.
