Korean Air Delivers Cumulative 3,000 A320 Wing Parts 'Sharklets'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Korean Air announced on the 20th that it has delivered a cumulative total of 3,000 Sharklets, wing components for the Airbus A320 series aircraft.
Sharklets are structures attached to the wingtips of A320 aircraft, which increase fuel efficiency by 4% compared to previous models, thereby extending flight range.
Korean Air was selected as the manufacturer of A320 Sharklets in 2010, and after successfully completing its first production in 2012, it established an Auto Moving Line facility capable of producing more than 50 units per month, delivering a cumulative total of 3,000 units.
Korean Air stated, "We were able to achieve the milestone of delivering 3,000 units through a strong partnership with Airbus. Based on this experience, Airbus and Korean Air plan to achieve even greater results."

Meanwhile, Korean Air is preparing to sign a follow-up contract after delivering 800 cargo doors for the A350 aircraft. Upon signing the follow-up contract, an additional 400 units will be delivered starting in 2023.
