According to his agency Family ENT on the 19th, Moon Ji-yoon died of acute sepsis at 8:56 PM on the 18th. He recently visited a hospital due to symptoms of pharyngitis, and as his condition worsened, he was moved to the intensive care unit but ultimately did not recover.

Sepsis is a disease in which inflammation caused by a wound triggers a strong immune response throughout the body, presenting symptoms such as high fever, increased heart rate, increased respiratory rate, and dizziness.
Early symptoms are similar to a cold, making it difficult to detect, but severe sepsis can significantly impair organ function, reduce blood flow, and in cases of a significant drop in blood pressure, septic shock may occur.
The mortality rate of sepsis is about 30%, and in severe cases, it rises to around 50%. When blood pressure drops causing septic shock, the mortality rate can increase up to 80%.
Pharyngitis is inflammation of the pharynx and larynx, starting with a foreign body sensation and dryness in the throat and a mild cough, progressing to pain when swallowing, high fever, and headaches. In severe cases, it can lead to complications such as acute nephritis and sepsis.
The sudden news of death has led to condolences from colleagues in the entertainment industry.
