Jungnang-gu Distributes 225 Bonghwasan Pear Trees to Kindergartens and Daycare Centers
From the 23rd to the 27th, one tree allocated per early childhood institution, with orchard experience classroom program also operated
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) will distribute 225 pear trees located in Bonghwasan Natural Experience Park at San 127-9, Sinnae-dong, to kindergartens and daycare centers in the area from the 23rd to the 27th.
Early childhood institutions wishing to participate can apply on the Jungnang-gu Office website from the 23rd to the 27th. Selected institutions will be announced on the 30th, after which children will have the opportunity to choose their pear tree and attach name tags. One tree will be allocated per institution, and institutions with more than 30 children can apply for an additional tree per every 30 children.
Additionally, only the institutions receiving trees will be offered monthly orchard experience programs suitable for the season, such as observing pear blossoms, dressing the fruit, and meeting autumn insects, providing urban children with a unique nature experience.
Now in its fifth year, the pear tree distribution program offers high satisfaction among participating institutions, as they can enjoy various experience programs and also harvest the pears.
Last year, 119 trees were distributed to 72 institutions, with inquiries steadily increasing each year.
Due to COVID-19 prevention measures, the distribution event usually held in early April will unfortunately be omitted this year.
