Iran Reports 149 Additional COVID-19 Deaths, Total Reaches 1,284
Number of Deaths and Confirmed Cases, Third After China and Italy
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] On the 19th (local time), the Iranian Ministry of Health announced that the number of deaths due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) increased by 149 compared to the previous day.
As a result, the total number of deaths from COVID-19 in Iran has reached 1,284. For five consecutive days up to this day, the daily death toll has exceeded 100. This day recorded the highest number of daily new deaths. As the number of deaths rapidly increased, the fatality rate also rose to 7.0%.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 1,046 from the previous day, totaling 18,407. The cumulative number of recovered patients is 5,979, with a recovery rate of 32.5%.
