Jeonbuk Province Supports Rural and Agricultural Organizations with COVID-19 Infection Prevention Supplies
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Jeonbuk Province has urgently provided quarantine supplies to rural and agricultural organizations in the province to prevent COVID-19 infections as the full-scale farming season begins.
On the 19th, Jeonbuk Province announced that it secured an emergency supplementary budget and provided early support to block the spread of COVID-19 among vulnerable groups such as agricultural organizations frequently visited by many farmers during the farming season and foreign workers engaged in farming.
In addition, virus prevention guideline posters and hand sanitizers were placed in 210 buildings of city and county branches of Jeonbuk agricultural organizations, and 2,800 masks (150 per agricultural organization) were distributed to vulnerable groups such as foreign seasonal workers who are in blind spots for mask purchases.
Since last month, the province has been weekly inspecting hand sanitizer placements and continuously promoting behavioral guidelines at 137 rural tourism facilities related to agriculture, including local food direct sales stores, rural experience villages, as well as Nonghyup Hanaro Mart, Suhyup, and agricultural product distribution and sales centers, which are multi-use facilities in the province.
The federation, which operates the Agricultural Hall on a consignment basis, also shared the burden caused by COVID-19 by reducing rent by 30% for three months for four tenant companies including the Regional Agricultural Research Institute.
