Seodaemun-gu, Over 3,200 Care and Nursing Facility Workers Conduct Self-Diagnosis
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) is taking urgent symptom management measures for workers at local 'care and nursing facilities' who frequently come into contact with residents vulnerable to COVID-19.
This is a proactive measure to prevent the recent cluster infections of COVID-19 occurring in other regions.
Accordingly, a total of 3,219 workers (including facility managers) at 298 facilities within Seodaemun-gu, including comprehensive welfare centers, facilities for the disabled, homeless shelters, self-support facilities, daycare centers, and elderly care facilities, will conduct self-diagnosis by the 20th of this month.
The checklist includes whether there is a fever of 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher, presence of respiratory symptoms such as cough, visits to areas with many confirmed domestic or international cases, and whether they belong to high-risk groups.
The district office has required all facilities to submit diagnostic results and any notable issues, and in case of suspected symptoms, to immediately report to the Seodaemun-gu Public Health Center and maintain isolation until measures are taken.
Additionally, the district has instructed care and nursing facilities to check whether users, workers, and volunteers are wearing masks and to request that outsiders refrain from visiting.
