Voluntary Participation of Firefighters Raises Over 13 Million Won in Donations

According to the Gwangju Metropolitan City Fire Safety Headquarters on the 19th, since the fundraising began on the 12th, employees including firefighters from the Fire Safety Headquarters, five fire stations, and the Fire Academy have participated, raising a total of about 13 million won.
The funds will be donated to organizations such as the Community Chest of Korea and used for quarantine supplies like masks and protective clothing, as well as for treatment.
In addition, the Gwangju Fire Safety Headquarters is prioritizing the early end of COVID-19 and the safety of citizens by implementing measures such as dispatching the Infectious Disease 119 Dedicated Ambulance Team to Daegu, manufacturing and storing quarantine supplies, providing fire prevention consulting for residential treatment centers, supporting manpower and quarantine efforts with volunteer firefighters, and deferring fire administration civil service processing.
