[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] Poppin Hyunjoon’s diagnosis of a cervical disc herniation brought tears to his wife Park Aeri’s eyes.
On the afternoon of the 18th, the KBS 2TV variety show 'Men Who Do Housework Season 2' aired a scene showing the couple Poppin Hyunjoon and Park Aeri visiting a hospital.
Poppin Hyunjoon told the doctor, "I came because my shoulder and neck are not well. When I move my neck, my whole body hurts down to my fingers."
The doctor responded, "Neck pain accompanied by numbness in the hands is not a common symptom. If your hands go numb, it could mean that all problems started from the neck."
After reviewing Poppin Hyunjoon’s MRI results, the doctor said, "Compared to your age, the disc is much more protruded. It’s like you’ve used it 100 years more than an average person," and warned, "Paralysis could occur. Surgery might be the best option, but if you have surgery, you really won’t be able to dance."
Poppin Hyunjoon firmly replied, "That’s not an option. I have to keep dancing," and ultimately decided to undergo a procedure to relieve the pain instead of surgery.
