In a press release on the same day, the candidate stated, "Hampyeong County ranks low in financial independence among the 243 local governments in South Korea," and pledged, "If elected as county governor in the by-election, I will definitely revitalize the local economy."
He continued, "If elected governor, I will establish a resort town that includes a cave-type primitive experience center where visitors can experience primitive life, and mud wall houses for disease treatment and physical rest to attract tourists," emphasizing, "The eco-friendly mud wall houses have the advantage of low construction costs and provide a healthy rest experience."

He added, "Although Hampyeong County uniquely possesses the natural environmental conditions where mountains, fields, and sea harmoniously coexist, it is regrettable that these have not been utilized as tourist resources," and said, "If these are properly utilized, the county could be economically more prosperous compared to other local governments."
