Lotte Department Store in Honam and Chungcheong Regions Rolls Up Sleeves to Secure Sales Channels for Farms Supplying School Meals
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Lotte Department Store Honam Chungcheong Region (Regional Manager Jeong Yoon-seong) is drawing attention by actively using online channels to secure sales routes for farms supplying school meals.
On the 18th, Lotte Department Store announced that starting from the 19th, it will hold the "Jeollanam-do School Meal Farm Support Online Special Exhibition" through Lotte Department Store's online channels, Lotte Lotte, Lotte.com, and Lotte Home Shopping.
This event, held in cooperation with Jeollanam-do, will feature a total of 16 companies selling about 70 items online, including eco-friendly rice, brown rice, Jangheung seaweed, Yeonggwang dried yellow corvina, and plain yogurt, which have faced difficulties in supply due to the suspension of school meals.
In particular, to provide practical support to local farms, the special exhibition will be featured in the main section of the online channels for a certain period, and with subsidies from Jeollanam-do, eco-friendly pesticide-free rice (10kg) and Hi-Ami rice (10kg), known for its high quality, will be sold at 32,000 KRW, more than 20% cheaper than the market price.
Meanwhile, Lotte Department Store Honam Chungcheong Region signed a business agreement with Jeollanam-do in August last year to expand sales channels for local agricultural, fishery, and specialty products, contributing to the expansion of sales of excellent agricultural and fishery specialty products produced in Jeollanam-do by holding direct transaction markets.
Also, since October last year, Lotte Department Store's online channel Lotte Lotte has opened a direct shipment section from the Namdo production area, selling about 400 local agricultural and fishery specialty items. This year, they plan to discover products from local famous restaurants such as Yeosu soy sauce marinated crab, Naju beef soup, and Mokpo fermented skate, and introduce them to consumers nationwide.
