Yeonggwang-gun Hosts 'Tree Planting Event' to Commemorate Arbor Day
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 18th that it held the ‘75th Arbor Day Commemorative Tree Planting Event’ at Usan Park.
On this day, due to the escalation of COVID-19 to a serious level, only 13 employees from the Forest Park participated to prevent the spread of the infectious disease, planting 510 trees including Aegidongbaek and Hupihyangnamu at Usan Park.
This event was carried out in conjunction with this year’s key policy, the Green Yeonggwang 1 Million Tree Planting Campaign, contributing to climate change response and the establishment of ‘Cool City Yeonggwang’ through tree planting in the park.
Governor Kim Junsung said, “Planting trees is planting the future,” and added, “As important as planting is nurturing, we will create a green-filled county through continuous management.”
